It is also worth while keeping an eye on the dial at the bottom left corner of you HUD as this will tell you the percentage of damage to the parts of the car. KT Racing have definitely worked on the handling of the cars for this edition as cars take the corners like a dream.ĭamage mechanics are in play with it having cosmetic and physical effects (although this can be turned off if you so wish) damaged to wheels and engine can drastically effect the handling of the car and if you damage the car to much it’s end of the road and a “DNF” for you. As you go round the stages you get the feeling that there has been a lot of attention made to the general feel of the cars with your co-driver shouting the pace notes in your ear the authenticity is definitely there. Getting into the race itself, the controls are very smooth I had no problems at all getting to grips with them and the cars handling was spot on, hugging every turn and even down to the controller shudder when you are hurtling at speed over gravel. Again the beauty of the game was there to see with the stunning visuals of the stage on offer as it pans round as you get ready to race Stunning Views The menu itself is easy to navigate and clear what choices you haveįirst off I chose a quick race just to get a feel of the controls and the game in general, to be fair if you’ve ever played a racing game before then you’ll probably know the main controls, rt to go forward lt to break it’s all pretty much standard which is good as it doesn’t take you long to get comfortable. The first time I booted up WRC 9 I did the usual and had a click about the menu to see where everything was and get familiar with the set up, the first thing that grabbed my attention was the shear beauty of it all, the beginning loading page is a random selection of the cars available all have unreal detail, it is just like watching the real thing.
